Melisa Sacchi and Cristian Palomo 

Cristian and Melisa met at a milonga in San Telmo in 2012. On a dare, Cristian invited Melisa for a tanda of DÁrienzo. The chemistry between them was instant. Together they joined the company Tango Maestro Jesús Velázquez, Vicente López Raices y tradiciones. They performed in the show Tango Yeca (presented at the Auditorio de Lozada Corrientes) and El Querandi. During this time, they also taught at The Argentina School of Tango.
In 2015, Cristian and Melisa won the Metropolitan Tango Championship in the World Milonguero category. In the same year, they reached second place in the World Championship in tango salon and were also the finalists in stage tango. With hard works and determination, at the same venue in Luna Park, their technical precision and faithfulness to the origin of tango fascinated the audience and convinced the judges to award them the 2016 World Champion Salon Tango in Buenos Aires.
Melisa Sacchi and Cristian Palomo are a duo of tango dancers working together since several years at the scene of 2×4 of Buenos Aires City.
On August 30 of 2016 they were consecrated Champions in the category of Tango Pista in Tango BA Festival and World Championship. In this competition, they provoked a great impression not only on the jury, for their honest dance, but also by the local and international public.
A year earlier, they were finalists in both categories, consecrated at the 2nd place in Tango Pista. Also, in 2015, they were chosen as Champions in Buenos Aires Championship.
Their great versatility as artists not only make a difference in the Tango Salon by the quality of their walk and the presence, but also performing originals choreographies of Tango Scenario that stand out for their technical accuracy, execution and theatrical performances. As Tango´s world ambassadors since their recognition in the largest event of Tango, Melisa and Cristian’s goals are promoting the insertion of new audience in Tango and show dance as it was conceived in the origins of traditional Milongas.
The choreographic preparation for tango dancers and the return of dance on the floor in Tango Salón, are also goals of the Champions 2016.

Melisa Sacchi 

Melisa Sacchi learn to dance classical ballet as a young child. She started to dance tango in 2001, learning from well-known milongueros, tango maestros, and choreographers in Buenos Aires. In 2007, she was hand-picked to attend the Academia de Estilos de Tango Argentino (ACETA) where she was nurtured by influential maestros. In addition to performing tango, she further enriched her knowledge with the studies of music, choreography, and theatrical classes under the great director and actress Andrea Garrote. Melisa completed her first year study for the Degree in Folklore Dance at the National Institute of Art (IUNA) in 2008.

Cristian Palomo 

Cristian Palomo comes from a family of folkloric dancers. His love for dancing started in 1999 in the ballet folklorico municipal de Gral. San Martin. He has received many recognitions in various events such as National Festival of the Malambo in Laborde. Every year, from 2000 to 2008, he was a finalist at the most important folk event in Cosquín, Cordoba, and in 2010 as well as 2011, he was sworn Pre Cosquín in dance. Cristian was also the finalist in the category of male vocal Soloist of Folklore. He has shared the stage with widely acclaimed musicians including Los Nocheros, Tamara Castro, Cuti, and Roberto Carabajal. He also directed and choreographed for the ballet Folkloric Dances Kausani from 2004 to 2006.

Cristian’s first learned to dance tango at the National Institute of Art (IUNA) in 2003. He joined the ballet Criollo and toured internationally with the show “Argentine Pampa y Tango” from 2006 through 2012.
